I'll Be Here Awhile
"I'll Be Here Awhile" is a radio-only single by 311. It is the 12th and closing track on their album From Chaos. Lead singer Nick Hexum originally wrote it when he was twenty, hence the line in the refrain "Twenty years of age." He was thirty when he recorded it. He borrowed a line from the Rock Band The 77s from their 1987 self titled album. The name of the song was, "The Lust, The Flesh, The Eyes and The Pride of Life". The line borrowed was, "And if a person, place or thing can deliver I will quiver with delight". He comments on the interview included on the disc of From Chaos that he was living a wild and crazy life at that young age.
"I'll Be Here Awhile" made it to position 15 on the Modern Rock Tracks in 2001.
